M1296 Stryker Dragoon 15mm 1/100 scale model

The M1296 Stryker Dragoon is a modern American wheeled armored infantry carrier. The first units of this vehicle were introduced into service in the United States Army in 2017.

The vehicle is approximately 7.65 meters long and 2.77 meters wide. The vehicle weighs about 18.5 tons and is powered by a Catterpillar 3126 diesel engine with 350 HP. The main armament consists of a 30 mm Mark 44 Bushmaster II cannon and a 7.62 mm machine gun mounted coaxially.

As the name suggests, the M1296 Stryker Dragoon is an advanced modification of the M1126 Stryker vehicle. The main change is the use of an unmanned turret developed by Kongsberg, placed in the middle part of the vehicle, housing the main armament. This change significantly increased the vehicle's firepower and its ability to engage lightly armored targets.

There are also many indications that the vehicle's reinforced armor - especially in the front - provides protection for the crew and dismounts against 14.5 mm caliber ammunition. There is also a possibility that this armor protects against fire from 20 mm caliber guns. The M1296 Stryker Dragoon has a crew of two and is capable of carrying 9 dismount soldiers.
