Description: The Panzerkampfwagen 38(t), also known as the Panzer 38(t), was a light tank utilized by the Wehrmacht during World War II. Originally a Czechoslovakian vehicle known as the LT vz. 38, it was taken over by Germany following the annexation of Czechoslovakia in 1939. Due to its reliability, good mobility, and solid armament, it was widely used in the early campaigns of the war, including the invasions of Poland, France, and on the Eastern Front. The subsequent versions (A, B, G, E) introduced various modifications, primarily in armor and armament, to better meet the challenges of the battlefield.
Characteristics:
Type: Light Tank
Armament: Early versions were equipped with a 37 mm gun and a machine gun. Later versions featured upgraded armament, including improved guns and additional machine guns.
Engine: Praga EPA gasoline engine with approximately 125 horsepower, providing good mobility on the battlefield.
Crew: 4 members (driver, gunner, loader, commander)
Operational History: The Panzer 38(t) was extensively used in the early years of the war, particularly in the Polish and French campaigns, as well as during Operation Barbarossa on the Eastern Front.
