Historical Overview:
The Polish People's Army (Ludowe Wojsko Polskie, LWP) was formed in the Soviet Union and actively participated in battles on the Eastern Front. The LWP took part in breaking through the Pommernstellung and capturing Festung Kolberg in early 1945. LWP soldiers also fought during the siege of Berlin.
